Early starters beat the rain in the Cory Cup

Published: 15th January 2013

A Healthy sized field of 71 golfers entered the second round of the Cory Cup played on the 12th January. With the outlook for the weather not promising, the early morning starters were pleasantly surprised to be greeted with light winds and dry conditions and this proved to be the best part of the day with the rain closing in during the early afternoon. This was reflected in the scoring with all the top placed finishers starting in the morning with Nick Shelley finishing top of the pile to earn the maximum 20 points on offer in the series with a solid 18 hole score of 37 points finishing 2 points clear of Norman Evans who beat Bob Cruse into second place on count back.
