Cory Cup Round 3 and Red, White & Blue competition

John Rowe secured one of his best results of the year on Saturday 30th November during round three of the Cory Cup Series with a very good score of 37 points, he was closely followed by Richard Lawrence who came in with 36 points which also resulted in Richard getting down to single figures for the first time with his handicap being cut to 9. Les Spong, Martin Biddle and Paul Dingle all finished on 34 points with Les securing 3rd Place after a count-back.

The following Saturday 7th December, saw members competing in four man teams in a Red/White/Blue Competition, consisting of 6 holes played from the Red Tees with all 4 scores to count, 6 holes played from the White Tees with 3 scores to count and 6 holes played from the Blue Tees with 2 scores to count.

Twelve teams entered and as usual things were very close at the top with only 1 point separating the Top Three positions, outright winners were the team of John Paul, Russell Combellack, Nigel Buse and Josh Greenaway posting a score of 105 points. Second and Third Places could only be decided after count-back with both teams shooting 104 points and this came down to best last 3 holes after the back nine and back six holes scores were the same. In the end Second Place went to the team of Matthew Mills, Kevin Birkett, Richard Parsons and Steve Smith and Third spot went to Keith Hawke, John Westlake, Les Spong and Marc Knight.
