Cory Cup Round 2

Published: 29th November 2013

Saturday 23rd November saw Round 2 of the Cory Cup being delayed until 9.45 with the Early Birds being greeted by clear skies and sunshine, unfortunately this also meant an overnight frost which ensured a slightly smaller than normal field of 61 golfers took part in the Competition.

When the course finally opened scoring conditions were perfect with very little wind, receptive and very fast greens a fact that was reflected in some very good scoring for the time of the year. Both Paul Warren and Richard Hambly posted best scores on the day coming in with 37 points with Paul's back nine of 20 points sealing First Place compared to Richards 17 points. Finishing in Third place with 35 points playing off a +2 handicap was Josh Greenaway, Josh’s round was very much an up and down affair being four over after six holes including a 4 putt on the 1st green for a double bogey although his golf from the 6th onwards was flawless being 5 under par for the last 12 holes and finishing with 3 birdies in the last 4 holes.
