Cornish Festival Pro-Am 2013 Day 2

Published: 18th April 2013

After the sun and fresh breeze of the first day came the North Cornish revenge ! Cold and with the wind gusting regularly at 40 mph golf was very difficult. The wind was so strong at Trevose that play was suspended there for over an hour in the afternoon. At one point European Tour winner Dave Dixon failed to hit his four iron 100 yards ! The organisers have told the webmaster that the conditions were the most difficult in the history of the event.

Our Pro's and their teams suffered too with scores that reflected the difficulties. Nick's team of Richard Hawken, Andy Bunt and Robbie Moore lie tied 26th on 147; Mark's team of Kevin Brenton, Norman Evans and Joe Cruse lie tied 60th 9 shots back. This is a better ball stableford competition for the teams with the Pro's score and one other to count on each hole - so a difference of 9 points is do-able but perhaps difficult.

In the Pro's competiton Nick shot 78 at St Enodoc for a two round total of 150, whilst Mark had 77 at Newquay to lie on 152.
