It was the final round of the series in the Colonel’s and Metropole Cups this Saturday.  The series started way back in April with 8 rounds played through the summer months.  There has been a mixture of conditions to play in and this week was no different with a warm but windy day and some heavy showers later in the afternoon.  This week 55 members entered the two cups with the top places in the series still to fight for.

In the Colonels Cup Norman Evans and Steve Buse were ahead of the rest of the field by 4 points.  Norman played early morning and was uncontended until late in the afternoon when Steve came in from the rain.  Norman just held the lead on countback with 32 points to take 1st place and Steve has to settle for 2nd place.  In 3rd place Russel Combellack scored 28 points with Julian Darnell, Dennis Brown and Dave Pooley all behind him on countback all with 28 points.

In the Metropole Cup, Pete George took the top spot this week with 28 points, followed by Kevin Richards in 2nd place with 27 points and Tony Rounsevell and Keith Searle fighting over countback to take 3rd and 4th respectively with 25 points each.
