Colonels & Metropole Cups Round 8

Published: 23rd September 2013

Despite the previous day being a complete washout members struck lucky with the weather for Round 8 of the Colonels & Metropole Cups played on Saturday 14th September. Although having to contend with a tricky strengthening wind conditions were dry and despite the previous days rain the course was presented in top condition.

Robbie Moore continued his excellent form for 2013 to win the Colonels Division with a very good score of 37 points, with 1 round in the Colonel Series to go Robbie is in a very strong position to go one better than last year and clinch the series. Both Rich Hawken and Steve Chapman finished with 35 points although Rich took Second Place with a better back nine.

Things are tight at the top in the Metropole Series with Keith Thompson putting himself right in to contention after taking top spot in the Metropole Division to take the maximum 20 series points on offer. Keith posted a score of 37 points on the day which was good enough to beat Bob Cruse by a point. Finishing in Third and also putting himself into contention for the Metropole Series was Ryan Perring after coming in with 35 points.
