Club Challenge Cup

Published: 27th June 2016

The Club Challenge Cup was held this Saturday with 55 men entering the medal competition.   It was tough on the course with the competition standard scratch at 74 and a good number of nil returns!  Steve Smith found himself in the bunker at the 2nd and stayed there for the next 11 shots.

The winner of the Club Challenge Cup was Martin Trees, who won by a clear 4 shots with a nett 68.  Martin, along with Josh Greenaway also had the lowest gross score of the day, both turning in a gross 75.

In second place, Greg Mather had a nett 72 and earned himself a handicap reduction.  Joe Combellack continues his come back on good form and finished in 3rd place.  He had nett 73 ahead of Kenton Williams in 4th and Stuart Morley in 5th on countback.

6th, 7th and 8th place will provide some good banter in the bar with Tuck Clagett finishing ahead of Mike Buse on countback with nett 74.   Mike however will be mollified by the fact that he finished ahead of Steve Buse on countback!

9th place went to Neil Bradley also with a nett 74 and Josh Greenaway with 75 gross but a scratch handicap finished in 10th place.
