Fresh from his recent win in the Perranporth Winter Foursomes, and a recent birthday as well, Kevin Brenton partnered by Bev Vann won this years Bray Bowl with a brilliant net 69 to win by three shots.

The Bray Bowl is a difficult format: mixed medal foursomes golf and a good card can easily be spoilt by a single wayward shot. This year's competition was played in a light breeze and with only the slightest hint of drizzle from time to time.

Kevin and Bev won the Bray Bowl together 10 years ago when Bev had just turned 40, so she has done it again having just reached 50. They look a good bet for 2024!

In announcing the winners Club Captain Tony Rounsevell took the opportunity to pay tribute to the departing Rob Davies and who is leaving the club to return to the Bristol area. Rob has been a very popular member of staff, always smiling and helpful. A scratch golfer he will be missed from the CTC team.

Those left trailing by Bev and Kevin were

  • 2nd Angela & Chris Tickner net 72
  • 3rd Sue & Geoff Jones net 74
  • 4th Sue Ofield & Steve Sparrow net 74
  • 5th Terri Gliddon & Rob Davies net 74
