Monday 15th of June saw the Seniors playing a Stableford competition. Players who have no Active Club handicap may play in Holywell Seniors competitions off a handicap based on events such as these. Tyrell Sandry scored a very good 35 points to take the money with Peter Meredith in second place on 32 points in a countback from David Girling. Peter's 22 points on the back nine has been duly noted by the committee!

Berry-Young Trophy.

It was lovely to see Mrs Berry again this year. She came for a high tea and to present the cup given in the memory of Bob Young and Hughie Berry on Friday 19th. Regrettably there were only 9 entries this year for a Pinehurst-greensome format. Club Vice-Captain Tony Mindel (also a Senior!) and Seniors Captain Richard Parsons made up the numbers.

David Miller, unaware that the game was on, turned up for a standard roll-up; this was just as well because Garry Cooper had to pull out and David slotted into the vacant spot. Not only that but he very ably helped Peter Meredith win the cup with a hard fought 37 points. Second on countback over the last three holes were Bill Hughes and Tyrell Sandry with 36 points from Kevin Birkett and Ian McLellan. There were two other 36s and the worst score was 33pts – all in all – pretty good scoring.
