Battle Trophy and conclusion of Colonels and Metropole Cups

Both of the men's competitions played in the last two weeks have been played under sunny skies along with lighter winds. These more playable weather conditions have certainly made for some competitive scoring starting with the 5th round of the Battle Trophy played on the 15th September. Malcolm Howells came out on top with a fantastic nett 64 to record his lowest competition score to date at St Enodoc, 2nd and 3rd places had to be decided by count back with Dennis Brown coming second and Gavin Jarvis third both players posting nett 66’ s. Low gross for the day went to Anthony Nash after shooting an impressive 68.

The ninth and final round of this year's Colonels/Metropole Cups were played on the 22nd September. Robbie Moore started the day as leader of the Colonels Cup and although Robbie shot a very respectable 34 points on the day including a two under par back nine to come back in with 22 points he was just pipped to the Colonels Cup by a single point after Rob Davies shot a best of the day 38 points. Both John Rowe and Max Irwin came in with 36 points although John Rowe finished 2nd after count back.

In the Metropole division Richard Parsons came in with a very good 38 points to win the division by 4 points from Martin Wilson on 34 points, Chris Tickner also came in with 34 points but finished third after count back.
