An encouraging result for Antony Nash

Published: 17th May 2014

Following a disappointing trip up to Scotland for a EuroPro event, our resident touring professional, Antony Nash, was in action in at "Total Triumph Classic" at Oake Manor Golf Club Taunton this week. The weather was a stark contrast to the previous event and was gloriously sunny with a gentle breeze blowing. Antony got off to a slow start in the first round with a few bogeys and a double early in the round. However, he sprung to life at the turn reeling off four straight birdies getting himself back into the event and one more on the back nine saw him finish the first round with a 1 under par 69.

The second day was even hotter than the first and Antony started off steadily. A lost ball on the 7th saw him make another double and drop to 2 over par, once again showing his fighting spirit Antony responded with two straight birdies to turn at level par. Antony played very steady golf on the back 9 hitting every green and finished the round with a second 69 bringing him to 2 under for the event and saw him finish in 18th tied with former Ryder Cup star Phillip Price. Some good signs ahead of a busy week next week for Antony with the Assistants qualifier and a EuroPro event at Longhirst Hall in quick succession.
