The Ladies were treated to a glass of Pimms when they returned to the clubhouse on Tuesday 27th August, courtesy of Barbara Graham’s hole in one on the 15th. This feat boosted Barbara’s score to 37 points but it was not enough to elevate her into the prizes on a day when scoring was exceptional.

Terri Gliddon won Division One on the Church Course with a fantastic 40 points, but only just as Bev Vann also achieved a total of 40 points and had to settle for second place on count back. In Division Two, winner Sue Richards had a more comfortable four shot lead over Sarah Fisher who was pleased to be competing again after a prolonged absence due to injury. On the Holywell Course first and second place could only be decided on count back as both Lesley Casey and Ann Worden finished with a grand total of 42 points.

Presidents Cup

The final of the Presidents Cup took place on Thursday 29th August in good playing conditions. Kath Biddle and Meg Godfrey were the two players contesting the final of this premier scratch match play competition. As expected, both players produced some high quality golf and Kath took a two holes lead in to the back nine. Meg made a fine birdie on the tenth to narrow the gap but Kath then won three holes out of the next five to become the 2013 scratch match play champion.
