A Variety of Ladies Competitions

In a recent Roworth Salver Kath Biddle came in first with 35 points followed by Barbara Willmott with 34 and Pauline Meredith on 31. An Irons Only Competition was held on both courses and, with the introduction of rescue clubs, proved that some of the carries on the Church are now too long for the higher irons we now carry. On the Church Course Fiona Lunt scored 26 points to win. In Second Place was Dot Frewin with 24 and third was Annie Cruse also on 24 points on countback. On the Holywell Course, the sole use of Irons proved much more satisfactory with Helen Russell scoring a brilliant 39 points followed by Pat Parry on 37 and Carol Carter on 34.

Last Tuesday 20th March a Par was played on both the Church and Holywell Courses. Di Dingle had a successful round on the Church to come in level and win Division One. Jane Bendall and Jax Buse both scored minus 3 with Jane coming second on countback. In Division 2 Sue Moore scored well to finish on minus 1. Lynn Ashcroft was second with minus 3 and Pat Parry came in third with minus 4. On the Holywell Course Annabell Woolcott continued her winning streak with a score of plus 3 to win and Barbara Hawkins was second with plus 2. In third place was Annie Matthews on plus 1 on countback from Nan Girling.
