3 man Team Texas Scramble

Published: 18th January 2016

This Saturday’s competition was a 3-Man Team Texas Scramble.  All players play all shots with the preferred shot taken, however the team must use a minimum of 4 drives from each player.  The team handicap allowance is 10% of the combined playing handicaps and the decimal point is crucial as shown in the top 5 scores.  24 teams entered the competition.

The players were treated to a rare, dry day with only light winds and even some sunshine at times.

Stuart Fleet Lewis Bradley and Neil Bradley made up the winning combination with a 2.9 handicap, scoring a nett of 58.1.  They were 6 under after the first nine and finished with a gross score of 61 to give them their 58.1 nett score.

Kristian Godfrey, Mike Masters and Mark Westlake made up a strong team with a combined handicap of just 1.2.  They birdied or parred the whole round to also score a gross 61 giving them a nett 59.8 to take second place.

In third place Andy Bunt, Shaun Hawken and Tuck Clagett scored a gross 64, with not a single bogey to give a nett score of 61.4.  Fourth place went to Richard Hawken, Dave Flew and Richard Lawrence who also grossed 64 to earn them a nett 61.7.   Ken Perring, Martin Biddle and Steve Cock came a close 5th place with 61.8.  The scores throughout were good with all but one team beating the course par.
