Ian Waters was Secretary of the Club immediately before our present General Manager and this competition marks his untimely death whilst still in office.

Last year in reporting this event the webmaster wrote ".......in the brightest of bright sunshine albeit with a chilly and ever increasing wind.....". Sadly today there was only persistent rain and wind, enough to limit the competition to 12 holes and to distract the players attention from the excellent condition of the course - as befits it's No 14 ranking in the Golf World top 100 courses. Last years winners and most recently also triumphant in the prestigious St Enodoc Open Foursomes were Tamsin & Richard Blake and who today had to be content with runners up spot - beaten by a solitary point by Club Vice-Captain David Elliott and wife Beth.

Those who managed best in the wet were

  • 1st Beth & David Elliott 24 points (winning £25 each and a bottle of wine)
  • 2nd Tamsin & Richard Blake 23 points
  • 3rd Celia Jarvis & Kenton Williams 23 points
  • 4th Penny Moon & Richard Matheron 22 points
